Meet our staff, members of the local community who make everything that happens possible.

Shelly Segrist
General Manager and Funeral Director
Shelly Segrist, General Manager and Funeral Director. Shelly grew up in Norwood, Ohio, and is a graduate of Mount Notre Dame High School. She attended Ivy Tech, from which she received her associate degree in Mortuary Science. Shelly knew from a young age she wanted to become a funeral director. It isn’t often we get to live out our childhood dreams, and because of this, Shelly truly believes this is her calling. She has been with Showalter Blackwell Long since 2019 and is proud to continue serving our communities as Manager with the same care and compassion we are known for. Shelly is a member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Liberty. She enjoys spending her spare time with her family, painting, gardening, and fishing.

Lana Revich
Funeral Director
Lana Revich, Funeral Director. Lana was born in the USSR; she graduated Magna cum laude in Mortuary Science from Nassau Community College in Garden City, New York, in 2014. Lana completed a residency in New York, moved to Texas, worked, and by chance was recruited to Indiana. I was supposed to manage a location in Veedersburg but decided that I loved the community and the family at Showalter Blackwell Long so much, she asked to stay. Lana loves her 2 dogs, Fatsticks and Jane, and loves spending time with them more than anything else.

Kala Rees
Office Administrator
Kala is a Connersville native; her parents are Dwayne and Sandra Harrison. She is a graduate of Connersville Senior High School, graduating with the Class of 2010. She furthered her education at Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 2012. Kala started her career at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home with Joel Long in 2009. In 2019, Kala married Christopher Rees. For the first two years of their marriage, Chris and Kala lived upstairs at the Connersville funeral home. Kala is a member of The Unity Holiness House of Prayer. When she isn’t working, you can find her outside in her yard, watching crime or historical documentaries, WWE, or shopping. Kala is a proud cat mom to her two cats, Piper & Elvie. It has been a privilege to serve our families for almost two decades; Showalter Blackwell Long is my home away from home.

Nick Rybolt
Support Staff
Nick is a Connersville native. He graduated from Connersville Senior High School. His senior year, Nick began working at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home with Joel Long. He has been proudly serving the community ever since. Nick is a member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Liberty. He loves being outdoors, fishing, spending time with family, and watching ghost hunters. “Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home has been a support system throughout my life; I
consider the Funeral Home by second family."

Brandon Blevins
Support Staff
Brandon, a native of Seymour, Indiana, has been with Showalter Blackwell Long for over four years. Brandon started his mortuary
career in 1995 and has over thirty years of serving families. He is a graduate of the United Christian Church & Ministerial Association,holding two degrees. Brandon has been married to his wife, Susan, for nineteen years, and together they have three
daughters and six grandchildren. For over thirteen years, Brandon and Susan have been the Pastor’s at Greater Vision Ministries in Metamora, Indiana. In 2001, Brandon was ordained as a Bishop for his service and dedication to ministry.

Brandon Field
Support Staff
Brandon was born and raised in Richmond, Indiana. He graduated from Richmond High School with the class of 2019. Brandon has served in the mortuary field for over six years and has been with Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home for two years. He is a member of the Straightline Pike Pentecostal Church in Richmond. When Brandon isn’t working, you can find him fishing and spending time with his grandpa. This past fall, Brandon was able to attend a mission trip to Sierra Leone, Africa; he plans to return to Sierra Leone this year. Brandon serves our families by assisting in bringing their loved ones into our care.

Becky Hartgrove
Support Staff
Becky Hartgrove joined the staff of Showalter Blackwell Long in August of 2018 as a door greeter. She was born in Wabash, Indiana, and relocated to Fayette County with her family while in elementary school. Becky graduated from Connersville Senior High School with the class of 1971. Becky furthered her education at Ball State University, receiving a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Special Education. She spent over forty years teaching across a variety of settings and grade levels. Becky completed her last twenty-eight years with Fayette County School Corporation, working with students with mild disabilities. In her spare time, Becky enjoys spending time with her family and friends, engaging in physical fitness activities, and reading. Becky attends Southeast Christian Church. Becky considers it a privilege to support the families we serve during this incredibly challenging time.

Sharon Cameron
Support Staff
Sharon Cameron joined the staff of Showalter Blackwell Long in 2017. Sharon grew up in Centerville and is a graduate of Milton High School. Sharon is active in the Fayette County Senior Citizen; she enjoys playing bingo and going out to dinner with her friends. Sharon is a member of First United Methodist Church. After thirteen years, she retired from Stant in Connersville; she currently works at the Fayette County School Corporation as a lunch aid. She has two children and two grandchildren. You will see Sharon’s smiling face at the door; she enjoys helping our families in their time of need.

Marsha Eldridge
Support Staff
Marsha Eldridge has lived and worked in Liberty all her life. I grew up on a farm east of town, where my two children and three grandchildren reside now. My husband Kenny and I now live in town and enjoy having our family close by. I am proud to serve alongside these individuals, helping our families during this difficult time. I am a retired hairdresser, having worked over 30 years in that profession. Working with the public has given me an opportunity to make many wonderful friends over the years in Liberty and the surrounding areas. I am happy to be a part of the team at Showalter Blackwell Long.

Sandy Berry
Housekeeper
Sandy Berry joined the staff of Showalter Blackwell Long in 2019. Sandy is our housekeeper at our Liberty location. She retired from TriHealth - McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital as the supervisor from the housekeeping department. Sandy has one daughter and two grandchildren. She is a huge animal advocate and has an immeasurable love for Pepsi!

Judy Showalter
Former Owner and Support Staff
A Connersville native, Judy has been a part of the Fayette County community her whole life. She graduated from Connersville Senior High with the Class of 1962. Judy married John Showalter on January 23, 1965. In April 1978, John and Judy purchased Myers Funeral Home, which would later be named Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel. “Showalter Blackwell Long will always be very important to me. Remembering the many families we served, friendships made while living in both Liberty and Connersville brought much fulfillment to my life. Raising four children while living above the funeral homes in these communities for over 40 years holds many special memories. The professionalism, service, and compassion shown by the funeral directors and staff through these years were second to none. Today, the staff at these locations continue to serve the communities with the same integrity. It is my honor to be a part of and support Showalter Blackwell Long”.
