William “Bill” McLaughlin, 75, of Brookville died peacefully Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Majestic Care of Fairfield, Ohio.
The son of James Edgar and Dorothy M. Bryant McLaughlin, Bill was born on March 24, 1949 in Hamilton, Ohio. He graduated from Talawanda High School with the class of 1968. That December, Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force. He received multiple awards including the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and The Vietnam Campaign Medal. Bill was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1972. After returning home, he began employment with A.B. Dick as a copier technician. He worked there for many years prior to his well-deserved retirement. Bill was a humble man who enjoyed the simple things in life. You could find him relaxing at his camp site or out on the boat with his line in the water. Bill liked to make people laugh with his onery sense of humor. But most importantly, he adored spending time with his family even if it was just a round of cards. He will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Bill is survived by his daughter and her husband: Billie and Gary Rose; grandchildren: Brandon and Katerina Rose, Brooklyn Rose and Tyler Rotten, Glen Blanton; brothers: Jerry and Gretchen McLaughlin, Jim and Dianne McLaughlin; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife: Brenda K. McLaughlin.
A gathering for friends and family will be conducted from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty. A private burial will be conducted at Oxford Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
