V. DeWayne Amstutz, age 77, of Brownsville, Indiana died on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
DeWayne was born August 29, 1944 in Lafayette to Vernon and Harriet McMillian Amstutz. He attended Monitor Elementary and graduated from East Tipp High School in 1962. DeWayne married the former Linda Osmun on August 28, 1966. He was of the Evangelical / Mennonite faith. DeWayne was a retired farmer who raised veal cattle for twenty-five years and was a greeter for our local Wal-Mart. He enjoyed watching the birds and had quite the collection of John Deer tractors.
He is survived by his sons: Frederick Amstutz Sr., (Janie), Thomas Amstutz (Cindy), Paul Amstutz (Angel); daughter and son-in- law; brother: Dennis Amstutz; sisters: Theresa Hostetler (Duane), Cynthia Nafziger (Emerson), Katrina Amstutz; brother-in-law: Randy Vanderwall, six grandchildren, three step- grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, nine step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife of fifty-five years, DeWayne is preceded in death by his sister: Linda Vanderwall.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12p.m., Friday, April 22, 2022 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty. Friends may visit the funeral home from 11a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Brownsville United Methodist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Relief Fund, in DeWayne's honor.
