Patricia Ann Butcher, 79, of Brownsville died Friday, March 24, 2017, at Forest Park Health Campus in Richmond.
Patricia was born in Richmond on February 17, 1938, to Ralph Edward and Edith Louise Crouch Reed. She attended Richmond High School. Patricia married James Butcher on June 6, 1955 in Richmond. She had a real heart for children and was employed for twenty years at Wernle Children’s Home in Richmond. She worked alongside her husband in his business, Richmond Window Cleaning. Patricia, with her husband, liked to fish on the Whitewater River near where they lived.
Patricia is survived by four sons and their spouses: Michael James Brite and Kathy of Frankfort, IN, Ronald Fickle and Becky of Indianapolis, Scott Stephenson of Arkansas, and Randy Butcher and Nancy of Fountain City; two daughters: Sue Stephenson of Noblesville, and Paula Vega of Chino Hills, CA; two sisters: Judy Lay of Liberty, and Jeannie Morgan and husband, Danny of New Paris; special sister-in-law, Doris May of Richmond; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband of 58 years who died August 15, 2013, Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Elwood Reed; and a sister: Rosalie Reed.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, in Liberty with Pastor William Lewellen of the Temple of God in Richmond officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017, where memorial contributions may be made to the Wernle Children’s Home – 2000 Wernle Road – Richmond, IN 47374.
