Pamela Jean Robinson (PJ Robinson), 64 of Middletown, Ohio, died Saturday, January 27 at home with her family after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Pam graduated from Union County High School in 1978 after she and her family moved to Bath, IN from Trenton, OH in July 1968. She developed a passion for music in her teenage years, and upon graduating, Pam attended cosmetology school. Her love for music became her passion, and early in her adult life, she was heavily involved in the blues and R&B music scene, singing and headlining with several bands such as “Electrik Blue’, ‘Blue Streak’, and ‘PJ Robinson and the Blues Reunion Group’. She graced stages and performed with multiple respected musicians in venues such as “RiverCity Blues Challenge’, “Little Chicago Blues Company’, “Jam at Eastgate Burbanks’, and more as well as several band competitions in one of her favorite places, Memphis, TN. She was also instrumental in marketing and promotion work for other artists and organizations in the area, contributing significantly to the local music community and worked to form a network for local artists like “The Sonny Moorman Group”, “No Saints No Saviors”, and other like artists in the Cincinnati area through initiatives like CincyIndies.org. Pam was also a highly talented, respected and sought after nail technician for many high profile clientele for about 13 years and gained a reputation as one of the best in her profession during that time. In addition to her vibrant and creative life, she was also a very spiritual person. Her faith guided her to become an ordained minister and counselor, and Pam spent much of her later years dedicating her time to adult abuse survivors and had aspirations of starting a pod cast to branch off her multiple ventures she began online for spiritual growth such as “Notes for the Spirit’, “Love Your Neighbor’, and “Help for the Journey”. Pam is survived by her two daughters: Leticia Gray of Middletown, Ohio and Eliza Braykovich, of Nashville, TN, whom she lovingly placed for adoption; brothers, Arthur D. Robinson III of College Corner, Ohio and Matthew Glenn (Debbie) Robinson of Ohio; sister, Mary Margaret (Jeff)Robinson Ruiz of Longwood, Florida; five grandchildren, Maija Kidd, Ellie Kidd, Jayda Kidd, Isaak Kidd and Arianna Gray; one great-grandson, Mi’Yeir Kidd; nieces, nephews and a host of those who were blessed to call her friend.
