Owen M. Hunter

Owen Michael Hunter, 16, of Liberty, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

The son of Daniel J. “Joe” and Caitlin Frazee Hunter, Owen was born on June 6, 2008, in Oxford, Ohio. He was a current sophomore at Union County High School where he played basketball and baseball. At a young age, Owen developed a love for the outdoors and a passion for mowing. He would happily volunteer to meticulously cut the grass at home.

First and foremost, Owen loved Jesus! He was a faithful member of Redemption Life Church in Brookville. When he wasn’t at Church, you could find Owen outdoors on a gun range, practicing archery, hunting, casting his fishing pole, feeding the animals on Knect’s Farm or mowing with his grandpa. In addition, he enjoyed Formula 1 racing, all things StarWars, and spending his spare time with his family. Owen will be deeply missed by those who know and love him. His family finds comfort in knowing until they meet again, God is holding Owen in the palm of his hands.

In addition to his parents, Owen is survived by his sister: Mackenzie Hunter; grandparents; Pam and Jerry Frazee, Vickie and Jesse Earl, Larry Hunter; uncles: Mark and Lindsey Frazee, Matthew and Kim Frazee, Cody Hunter; aunts: Arin and Kris Singer, Kyna and Scott Gibbs; many cousins, extended family members, church family and friends too numerous to mention.

Owen is preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Elvin and Flora Frazee, Clifford and Pauline Hornung, Daniel and Lillian Sparks.

A Celebration of Owen’s life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 18, 2025, at Showalter Blackwell Long, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty with Pastor Justin Bradley officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 4:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m. The family has requested that everyone please wear casual clothing. Memorial contributions may be made to Redemption Life Church 1112 Main St, Brookville, IN 47012 in Owen’s honor.
