Nancy Dean Estes, 94, of Connersville died Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Caroleton Healthcare Center in Connersville.
The daughter of Francis and Minnie Pitcher Hill, Nancy was born on April 8, 1930, in Connersville. Nancy married Edward Estes on April 12th, 1947, in Connersville at the Former Evangelical United Brethren Church. For over twenty years, she worked as a lunch aid for the Fayette County School Corporation. At a young age, Nancy gave her heart to God. Along with a few friends, she was a founding member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, now called Grace Community Church of Connersville; she was the last surviving founder. Nancy’s life was dedicated to serving God and being a pillar in the church. She was one of the sweetest people you could ever meet until it was time to play Scrabble or Euchre. A competitive game enthusiast, Nancy loved playing daily with her friends and family. She treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren always looking forward to family picnics and game nights. Nancy will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to God, her family and her church.
Nancy is survived by her children and their spouses: Christine Regina, Dora Sidell, and Lola Estes, Jim and Brenda Estes; grandchildren: Mike and Jill Regina, Kathy Regina, Tabitha Coombs, Eva and Brian Klein, Russ and Monica Sidell, Jerry Sidell Jr., Tammy Waddell, Robert and Shannon Drew, Brandon Estes, Daniel and Lyndsey Estes; fifteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Edward; brothers: James and Clyde Hill; sisters: Ethel Readnour and Elizabeth Hampton; sons in-laws: Frank Regina and Jerry Sidell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor’s Ellis McQueen and Malcolm Greene officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 5p.m. to 8p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Community Church of Connersville.
