Mae Ruth Fairchild

Mae Ruth Fairchild, 89, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Heritage House Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Connersville. Ruth was born August 27, 1932 Ewing, Kentucky to Hugh and Elenora Howard Watson. On May 24, 1974, she married the love of her life Howard Fairchild. Ruth was employed at Ford Motor Company for over twenty-seven years. She enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds Baseball and the Indiana Pacers. Ruth traveled all over the country especially to Las Vegas, Branson, Missouri and Pigeon Forge. Above all she loved spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her daughter: Nancy Shelley; her grandchildren: Kenny (Cindy) Hunt of Miamisburg, OH; granddaughter: Paula (Roger) Miller of Brookville; two great-grandchildren: Jennifer (Billy) Langdon of Lebanon, OH and Michelle (Nick) Seibert of Franklin, OH; two-great grandsons: Blake (Brooke) Miller and Brandt Miller all of Brookville; eight great-great grandchildren and one on the way; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her son in law: Joe Shelley; brother: Wayne Watson; sisters: Mary Grimes; Maxine Gore; Charlotte Purcell, Peggy Fields and Evelyn Chasteen; Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday May 27th at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Reverend Robert E. Lee officiating. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
