Louise Myers

Louise Myers, 94, formerly of Liberty died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Heritage House in Greensburg. Louise was born in Metamora, Indiana, to Beecher and Winifred Alley Matthews and graduated from Brookville High School. She married Ellis Myers on May 31, 1941 at the Methodist Church in Metamora. Louise was a homemaker and assisted Ellis in farming. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Liberty and the Eastern Star # 346 in Connersville. Louise enjoyed horseback riding, playing cards, and attending church socials. After retirement, Louise and Ellis spent over thirty years in North Fort Myers, Florida, enjoying golfing and socializing. Louise is survived by a son: Edwin Myers and wife Kay of Waldon, IN; three Grandchildren: Gregory Myers and Michelle of Liberty, Beth Ann Wozniak and husband Terry of Springfield, Ohio and Rebecca Fox and Joseph of Pittsboro; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 72 years who died on January 29, 2014; a son; Allison Dean Myers; two brothers: Carl and Edwin Matthews; and a sister: Geneva Senour Butcher. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, in Liberty, with Rev. Dana Hadden of Hanna's Creek Church officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens near Boston in Wayne County. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Presbyterian church.
