Loretta Roszell

Loretta M. Roszell, 86, of Connersville went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Reid Health in Richmond. Loretta was born to George and Norma (Baker) Delaney on June 21, 1935 in Peppertown, Indiana. She married Everett Wayne Harris Sr., and together they had four children, Juanita Faye (husband Randy) Shipley of Connersville and Ronnie Lee (wife Glenna) Harris of Connersville. She was preceded in death by two of her sons, Everett Wayne Harris Jr. and Darrel Eugene (wife Carletta) Harris. Loretta later married Robert Earl Roszell Sr. on August 16, 1963. Robert was a widower with three children, Charles (wife Linda) Roszell of Jacksonville, Florida, Becky Sue Roszell (husband Arlis) Stewart of Connersville, Danny Joe (wife Karen) Roszell, who preceded her in death. Together, they had another son Robert (wife Paula) Roszell Jr.. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Steven "Pete" Roszell and sister-in-law Jeanie Roszell of Greensburg. Loretta was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Loretta also spent many years caring for her companion, Burgess Johnson who passed away in 2017. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: George Delaney Jr. and Stanley Delaney. Loretta was a passionate caregiver, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at several area nursing facilities, as well as home healthcare. She enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, NASCAR and Professional Wrestling on television. She liked pampering her pets, especially her dog, Puggles. She liked spending time outdoors keeping a large garden. Her favorite pastime was spent caring for her family whom she loved very much. Loretta will be missed by all that knew and loved her. A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Jim Gilbert of Bethel Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville. A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Fayette County Cancer Society in honor of Loretta.
