Linda D. Willhelm, 67, of Connersville, died Monday morning, May 2, 2016, at her residence.
Linda was the daughter of Frank L. and R. Vivian Holland May, born in Rushville on October 18, 1948. She attended Fayette County schools and was a 1966 graduate of Harrisburg High School. Linda was a ‘stay at home Mom’ while raising her family and later was employed at First Financial and its predecessor, Fayette Federal for over thirty years. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking. She liked to travel and especially enjoyed her trips to Hawaii.
Linda is survived by her children and their spouses: Lori A. Kennedy and John of Connersville, Ryan Willhelm and Kristina of Greenfield, Tricia L. Hughes and Jay of Connersville; her partner of over 22 years: John VanSickle; her siblings and their spouses: L. “Gene” May and Deborah of Lakeland, Florida; Charles A. May and Jerry; Leanna G. Holbrook and James H.; Rebecca J. May, all of Connersville; her grandchildren and their spouses: Jeramie Horn, Kailey Heighway and Andrew, Kyle Willhelm and his fiancé, Nikki; Justin Horn and Chelli, Samantha Snyder, Cassidy Willhelm, Trey Hughes; step-grandchildren: Lindsy Hughes, Brandon and Courtney Kennedy; great-grandchildren: Gabriel and Clay Horn; a step-great-grandchild: Ryan Kennedy; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Cynthia L. Stokes; her maternal grandparents: Roy L. Holland and Grace L. Holland Lechner; her paternal grandparents: Charles Joseph and Esther Adams May.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with her grandson, Pastor Jeramie Horn officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
