Julia "Judy" Maude Sedam

Julia M. Sedam, Dec. 25, 1924 - Sept. 5, 2019 Judy was born in Kentucky to parents Lucy and Elmer Kilgore and was a sister to eleven other siblings. Most of Judy's adult life was spent in Connersville, Indiana, where she and her husband Bob raised their family. She also lived briefly in Greenwood, Indiana and Robinson, Illinois. near her grown daughters Linda and Kathy, and lastly in Bakersfield, California near her son, Gary. Family was always most important to Judy. She loved her children and took special delight in her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as her own siblings and their families. It was a very close family, especially considering its size. Judy loved music as well as sports and for a long time would not turn down the chance to hear some live music or watch a good game. Judy regularly attended church in her last years and was at peace with God, saying she had led a good life and was ready when the Lord came to take her home. She loved singing old hymns her mom used to play on the piano. A sweet memory will be Judy in church, singing "I'll Fly Away" while her grandson played it on his guitar. Judy is preceded in death by parents Lucy and Elmer; beloved husband Robert; brothers: Kenny, Phillip, Don, Willis and Joe; and sister: JoAnn. She is survived by and will be dearly remembered by her son: Gary (Jackie), daughters: Linda Vance(Joe) and Kathy Whitcomb(Larry); her sisters: Martha Jones, Mary Oetjen, Barbara Kent, Carol Jones, Freda Linville; her grandchildren: Russ Sedam and Jennifer Meadows; Jessica Mayo, Josh Vance and Allyson Vining; Olivia,Whitney and Gabe Whitcomb and her great grandchildren Cameron, Graysen, Mikayla and Skyler Whitcomb and Phoenix Hall; Alyssa, Abby, Kate,and Brady Mayo: Brock, Jordan and Josh Sedam; Halle and Ethan Meadows. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2019, at the Bluebird Restaurant, 158 East Main Street, Morristown, Indiana. Private services will be conducted with the assistance of Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville.
