John Lee Wright

John L. Wright, 87, of Connersville died Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Caroleton Healthcare Center in Connersville. The son of Wilbur and Louise Manning Wright, John was born on February 20, 1935 in Connersville. John attended local area schools and enlisted with the United States Navy. On December 26, 1955, he married the former Carolyn J. Gruell at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. John had been employed at Reliable Machine Company, while working there; he decided to open his own business. He proudly owned and operated Best Machine in Fayette County, until his health no longer permitted. John was a car enthusiast; he made sure all of his vehicles were clean and detailed. His proudest achievement came from restoring and rebuilding his 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle. John enjoyed fishing and playing cards with his family and friends. He was former member of the Eagles Auxiliary. John is survived by his son: Kevin Wright and his wife, Melody; his daughter: Lisa Brown all of Connersville; Four grandchildren: Joey Wright and his wife, Crystal; Benjamin Brown, Lacey Wright and Danny Steele; and Nichole Wright and Aaron Dalton, all of Connersville; three great-grandchildren: Branson, Maxwell Wright and James Dalton. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife: Carolyn J. Wright; brother: Wilbur Wright Jr.; sisters: Ann Mitchell and Alberta Willett; his canine companion Buddy; several nieces and nephews. At John's request, private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville has been entrusted with arrangements.
