Jean Soliday, 84, of Connersville, died Monday afternoon, May 26, 2014, at Reid Hospital, Richmond.
A native of Salem, Jean was born April 30, 1930 to Ralph and Lena Malott Pollock and was a 1948 graduate of Salem High School. On August 12, 1959, she was married in Lawrenceburg to Robert James Soliday and they moved to Connersville. Jean was employed as a secretary with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department from 1973 to 2000. She was a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church and had attended CrossPointe Biker Church. Jean enjoyed crafts, reading and traveling. She had been an active member of the American Legion and the AMVETS Auxiliaries.
Jean is survived by her son: Randy Ledford of Rushville; her brother: Irvin Pollock and his wife, Pat of Venice, FL; her grandchildren: Rashelle Ledford of Connersville, Cassie Alison Baez and her husband, Luis of California; Jessica Kuboff of Rushville, Jennifer Kuboff of Hagerstown; Adam Ledford of New Mexico; great-grandchildren: Kaiden Ledford Earlywine, Alexis Ledford; a close family friend: Tammy Raiser of Rushville; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Ledford; her second husband, Robert Soliday; her son: Jeffrey Alison; and her grandson: Matt Ledford.
Funeral services for Jean will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor Chris Lovett of the CrossPointe Biker Church officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014
