Irma S. Cregar, 80, of Connersville died Sunday morning, July 13, 2014 at her residence.
A Connersville native, Irma was born on October 15, 1933 to Thomas and Wilma Boone Wadle and was a 1951 graduate of Connersville High School. On June 15, 1951, she was married to James Cregar, who died in January of 1989. Irma retired as a loan officer from Fifth Third Bank in its predecessor Central State Bank after twenty five years of service. She had also owned and operated Lindy’s Liquor Store until 1990. In her leisure time, Irma enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed shopping.
Irma is survived by her children: Michael “Mike” Cregar and his wife, Rita of Palm Coast, Florida; Jeffrey “Jeff” Cregar and his wife, Cindy Lou of Richmond; grandchildren: Kristin Cregar of Titusville, Florida; Kelsey Norris and her husband, Sam of Connersville; Ashley Moores of Indianapolis; Mackenzie Cregar of Richmond; great-grandson: Gabriel Norris; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband of thirty seven years, Irma is preceded in death by her sisters: Fay Ashwill and Phyllis Stiver; great-granddaughter: Kamdyn Paige Norris.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2014 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Mark Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Village Creek Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Friday until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
