Frieda "Fern" Chapman Bowne

Frieda “Fern” Chapman Bowne, 98, formerly of Liberty, died Sunday morning, April 8, 2012, at Brookville Health Care Center. A Franklin County native, Fern was born May 22, 1913 to Fred B. and Nora V. Dare Chapman. On September 23, 1940, she was married to Chester Bowne. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Connersville, and Connersville Moose Auxiliary. Fern enjoyed creating scrapbooks about the Union County area and had donated many of them to the Union County Historical Society. Fern is survived by nieces and nephews, including, Wayne Chapman of Liberty. In addition to her parents, Fern was preceded in death by her husband, her son: Robert “Bob” Chapman, who died in 2010; a brother: Raymond “Bud” Chapman; and a half-brother: Lester A Howell, who died in 1985.
