Evelyn Reid Stanley

Evelyn Reid Stanley, 98, of Connersville died, October 9, 2020 at Heritage House Rehabilitation Center of Connersville. Evelyn was born to William Atwell and Rosa Anna Banfield Pope on June 10, 1922 in Cythiana, Kentucky. Upon graduating High School Evelyn furthered her education at the Sherwood School of Music in Chicago. Evelyn married the late Robert Stanley on December 31, 1941. Evelyn played and taught piano in several churches including the Cathedral in Vincennes. Along with her love for music, she enjoyed working in music stores. She is survived by her sons: Robert Stanley and Carolyn of Waverly, Virginia, Michael Stanley and Margie of Charleston, South Carolina; sisters: Elsie Hofmann of Connersville, Margaret Hensley of Texas; 5 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services for Evelyn will be held at 2pm on Wednesday October 14, 2020, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Memorial contributions for Evelyn may be made at the funeral home to the Brownsville United Methodist Church.
