Eddie Plants

Eddie Plants, 49, of West College Corner died Saturday afternoon, August 3, 2013, at Reid Hospital in Richmond. Eddie was born February 19, 1964 to Donald and Juanita Mildred Beach Plants and was a Union County High School graduate. His love of driving led him to his career as a semi driver for Palmer Donavin. He also enjoyed racing, especially drag racing and NASCAR. Eddie was a fan of all sports and the Pittsburgh Steelers was his favorite team. Eddie is survived by his wife, Debra Hoskins; his step-son: Nathan Lohrey of West College Corner; his brother and his wife: Louis D. Plants and Ladina of Connersville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ford and Pat Hoskins of West College Corner; his brother-in-law Ford Hoskins, Jr. of West College Corner; and a niece: Correll Thackett of Milton. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents. Public graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at College Corner Cemetery. Friends may visit at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday where memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Foundation Cancer Fund.
