Doris Weesner Higgs, 84, of Richmond, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at her residence.
Doris was born in Dublin, September 6, 1931 to Leo and Hazel Hillman Pohlman. She attended Connersville area schools and was a 1949 graduate of Harrisburg High School. Doris enjoyed her family, her time spent reading and playing cards with friends. She was an accomplished seamstress and liked to cross-stitch.
Doris is survived by her daughter: Cheryl Roser of Richmond; her son: Brad Weesner and his wife, Ronda of New Castle; her sister: Lois Roberts of Connersville; seven grandchildren and their spouses: Chad Davis and Joanna of Liberty; Jennifer Malott of Richmond; Ben Chance and Dawn Rogers of Liberty; Sarah Hall and Kyle of Cambridge City; Jared Weesner of New Castle; Grant Newton and Angie of California; Brandi Caldwell of Rushville; nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, a step-daughter: Kimberly Petro of Rushville and two nephews.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her first husband: Farrell E. Weesner, who died in 1976; her second husband: Jack E. Higgs who died in 2003; her brother: Robert Pohlman and her great-granddaughter: Brianne Plough.
