Dolores M. Smith, 84, of Bradenton, Florida, and formerly of the Cincinnati area, died Saturday, August 2, 2014, at the Liberty Nursing Center of Oxford, Ohio.
Dolores was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 24, 1929, to William and Bertha Smith Miller. She graduated from college and taught in the Cincinnati Public Schools for over thirty years. Dolores married Charles Smith on July 15, 1979, in Eden Park in Cincinnati. Dolores loved her family, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading and traveling.
Dolores is survived by two sons: Tom Durban and wife Darlene of Charlotte, NC, and Bill Durban of Madison, IN; three daughter: Claire Jacobi and husband Jim of St. Louis, MO, Cammy Hapner and husband Dave of Ashville, NC, and Lisa LaBonte and husband Warren of Bradenton, FL; twenty grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Amy Grause, and a sister Anne Schrand.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 9th at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 404 E Vine St. in Liberty with Father John Luerman officiating. Interment will be at Springdale Cemetery 6530 Springfield Rd., Oxford, Ohio, (near Reily) at 1:45 p.m. Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday, August 9th from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. where memorial contributions may be made to St. Bridget Catholic Church.
