Diana Kay Hahn Waddell, 71, died Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Majestic Care of Connersville.
Diana was born June 8, 1950 in Connersville to Dorothy G. Booher Sturgis. She was a 1968 graduate of Connersville High School. On June 17, 1995, Diana was married to Brad Waddell in Connersville. For over thirty-five years, Diana was the secretary at State Farm Insurance on 30th street. When you entered State Farm, you knew Diana would be there with her infectious smile ready to assist you with any questions you had or to be a friend, which she was to so many. She made sure to have a personal connection with every person she met; she knew everyone and enjoyed taking care of him or her as if they were her family. Diana was a dedicated fan and avid collector of any Elvis memorabilia she could find, she knew everything and anything that related to Elvis. She loved to travel, especially to Graceland with her sisters and each time was as memorable as the first. She loved music and was an accomplished singer, singing in a trio - Melody Makers at Calvary Baptist Church. She loved to dance, roller skate and was a frequent visitor to the casino. Diana had a servant’s heart, she never met a stranger and she always made sure that everyone felt like they mattered.
Diana is survived by her husband: Brad Waddell of Connersville; her sons: Chris Grimes of North Carolina, Jamie Waddell of Indianapolis and Jason Waddell of Covington; her daughter: Michele Rockwell and Brad of Connersville; grandchildren: Taylor Grizzell, Layne C. Grimes, Hailie Grimes, Kanton Grimes, Ashley Waddell, Seth Waddell, Maria Waddell, Savion Waddell, Maxwell Waddell, Kingston Waddell, Brittany Colley, Caitlin Barns; great grandchildren: Kooper and Finely Grizzell, Liam Colley, Bennett Colley, Averie Barns and Andrew Barns; her sisters: Virginia L. Robinson, Viola M. Wheeler all of Connersville; Connie S. Haselby and Jon of Richmond.
In addition to her mother, Diana is preceded in death by her stepfather: Paul L. Sturgis; her brothers: Jackie Edward Hahn and Ronald Ellsworth Hahn; great grandson: Jameson Colley.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor John Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church from 10 a.m., until the time of service.
A celebration of Life will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m., March 30, 2022 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Diana’s honor.
