David A. Colter, 52, of Middletown, Ohio, went peacefully to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Ohio, with his family by his side.
David was a Connersville native, born May 2, 1964 to Chester D. and Marilyn Chance Colter and attended Connersville area schools. He graduated from technical school in Indianapolis as an air conditioner technician. He had been employed with K & K Electric Service in Connersville and with several other air conditioning repair businesses in Ohio. He had resided in Montana for several years and was a member of the Solid Rock Church in Monroe, Ohio. David was a NASCAR enthusiast and was a fan of Richard Petty. He enjoyed time was his family, sports and collecting knives and guns.
David is survived by his daughters: Samantha Colter and Heather Colter, both of Monroe, Ohio; his mother: Marilyn Valentine of Connersville; his sister: Teresa Russell and her husband, Tim of Connersville; his aunt: Wilma Offutt of Connersville; and nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his Father, his maternal grandparents: Thelma and Floyd Chance; and his paternal grandparents: Helen and John Colter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastors Phillip Russell and Tim Russell officiating. Following cremation, interment will be in Everton Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of service.
