Brenda Kay Mckinney

Brenda K. McKinney, 60, of Greensburg, died Saturday August 31, 2019, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. Brenda was born in Connersville on March 7, 1959 to James O. and Linda Steed McKinney. Brenda was an active member of the Laurel United Methodist Church. Brenda received her Master’s Degree in business at Indiana Wesleyan University, and had been employed for 35 years as an auditor and a compliance officer by Main Source Banking Company. Brenda was a very loving aunt and cherished her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. She loved the color purple, yellow roses, trips with family and painting. Brenda is survived by her mother Linda; her brothers Michael and Darryl McKinney; both from Laurel, sisters and their spouses: Rhonda McQueen and David of Laurel: Judy Murrell and David of Batesville; nieces and nephews: Shawna Vanderpohl, Eric Murrell, Taylor Shutters, Maggie McKinney, Cassandra Hancock, Amber McCallister, eight great nieces & nephews, eight step-nieces & nephews. Brenda was preceded in death by her father: James O. McKinney. Funeral services will conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday September 7, 2019 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Interment will follow in Laurel North Cemetery.
