Former Connersville resident, Dr. Barry N. Waddell, 69, died Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
Barry was born to Bert and Dorothy Rogers Waddell in Connersville. He attended Connersville High School and graduated from Ruyard High School in Michigan. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in March of 1971 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1974. After returning home, Barry married the former Sue A. Flowers on September 16, 1975. Barry moved to Tennessee where he was employed at Payne Chey Dealership. He enjoyed all college sports, going fishing and bowling. Barry was a faithful servant of the Lord, he furthered his education and received his Master’s degree and his Doctorate in Theology from Mountaineer Baptist College. He then attended Shulom College while pursuing his PhD.
Barry is survived by his brothers and their spouses: Kenny Bottoroff and Eleanor of Richmond, Brad Waddell of Connersville, Brian Waddell of Texas, Barton Waddell and Sherry of Connersville; sisters: Jennie Wissler of Lafontaine, Indiana, Jolene Smith and Bob of Peru, Indiana; his daughter Whitney, her husband and two children; brother-in-law: Jerry Northern and Pam; sister-in-law: Sarah Becker and Joe; many nieces and nephews; good friend: Jeff Payne.
In addition to his parents and wife of forty-five years, Barry is preceded in death by brother: Bruce Waddell, sister-in-law: Diane Waddell, Janet Hughett; father and mother-in-law: Charlie and Nora Flowers; mother-in-law: JeanAnn Meek.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1p.m., Monday, April 25, 2022 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Friends may visit the funeral home from 12p.m., until the time of service. Burial will follow at Lick Creek Cemetery.
