Barbara Jayne Hart

Barbara Jayne Hart, 82 of Liberty, Indiana passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, in Richmond, IN. She was born May 4, 1941, in Fayette County to Otha Thomas and Margaret Voltz Thomas. She graduated from Short High School in Liberty in 1959. Barbara worked for General Telephone for 3 years and was a Union County 911 dispatcher for 27 years, retiring in 2005. She had a beautiful voice and loved music, especially opera, sewing and cooking, leopard prints, and anything lavender or purple. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Hart of Denver, Colorado, brothers, John Thomas of Texas and Bruce Thomas of Richmond. Barbara is preceded in death by her son Wade D. Hart; her companion of 20+ years Charley Hurst and her parents. She will be profoundly missed by those who loved her. Private Services to be held at the convenience of the family.
