Arie W. Lackey, 24, of Connersville, died Saturday morning, April 18, 2015, from injuries sustained in a single car accident on North County Road 450E in Fayette County. The accident is being investigated by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.
Arie was born in Indianapolis, on May 27, 1990 to Earl Wayne and Teresa Louise Neukam Lackey. He attended school at Alquina Elementary School and Connersville Middle School. In 2009, he graduated from Centerville High School. During high school, Arie attended Whitewater Technical Career Center in Connersville where he received certification in Automotive Collision Repair. Arie was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was currently employed at Hills Pet Nutrition in Richmond. He enjoyed his time with family and friends. He loved kids and kids loved him. Arie had artistic talents and liked to listen to music, play video games and socializing, especially on the internet.
Arie is survived by his parents: Earl and Teresa Lackey of Centerville; his sister: Alissa Louise Lackey of Centerville; his paternal grandmother: Barbara Lackey of Richmond; his maternal grandfather: David Neukam and his wife, Belinda of Connersville; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Arie was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Ralph W. Lackey and his maternal grandmother: Dorothy Neukam.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Centennial Room at Expo Hall near Robert’s Park. The entrance is located directly north of Dairy Queen. Friends are invited to visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Centennial Room. Memorial contributions may be made to Make A Wish Foundation.
